About the role

Lead Internal Quality Assurer (IQA)

📍 Hull (with regional travel required)
💵 Competitive

I'm currently working with a well-established and highly respected training provider within the engineering sector to recruit an experienced Lead Internal Quality Assurer (IQA).

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation that is genuinely committed to developing its people, maintaining exceptional quality standards, and making a real impact on learner outcomes.

The Opportunity

As the Lead IQA, you'll take ownership of internal quality assurance across a broad range of engineering programmes.

You'll be responsible for ensuring that all assessment activities are robust, consistent, and compliant with awarding body standards, while also supporting and developing a team of IQAs, trainers, and assessors.

This is a key leadership role where you'll play a central part in driving quality improvement and embedding best practice across the provision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead internal quality assurance processes across training and assessment delivery
  • Ensure compliance with awarding organisations such as EAL, City & Guilds, ECITB, TWI, JTL (CompEx), and Pearson Edexcel
  • Oversee standardisation activities and support continuous improvement
  • Provide guidance and support to assessors, trainers, and IQAs
  • Maintain integrity, fairness, and consistency in assessment decisions

What I'm Looking For

To be successful, you'll need:

  • Proven experience in an IQA role within a training provider or education setting
  • A recognised IQA qualification (e.g. Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance or equivalent)
  • A teaching qualification
  • Engineering qualifications to at least Level 3
  • Strong understanding of awarding organisation requirements and EQA processes
  • Experience leading standardisation and driving quality improvements
  • Strong interpersonal, organisational, and IT skills
  • A solid engineering or technical background

What's On Offer

You'll be joining an organisation that truly values its staff and offers an excellent benefits package, including:

  • 42 days annual leave (including bank holidays)
  • Private healthcare and life insurance
  • Company performance-related bonus
  • Pension scheme (5% employee / 7% employer contribution)
  • Branded workwear
  • Ongoing professional development and training
  • Health and wellbeing support, including wellness initiatives and health checks

Working hours are Monday-Thursday 8:00-16:15 and Friday 8:00-16:00, with some flexibility required.

Additional Information

  • Based in Hull, with travel to other sites required
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential

Safeguarding & Equality

This organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of learners. All successful applicants will be subject to a DBS check.

They are also passionate about creating an inclusive and supportive workplace where everyone can thrive.

Interested?

If you're an experienced IQA looking to step into a lead role (or already operating at that level) and want to be part of an organisation that values quality, development, and people, I'd love to hear from you.
