Job Title Designated Individual – Technical Lead Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Designated Individual to oversee compliance with the Building Safety Act and Building Regulations for a major construction project in Teesside. This role is ideal for an experienced professional with in-depth regulatory knowledge and a strong background in managing complex building works. You will have the authority to influence planning and delivery while ensuring safety and compliance at every stage. Location and Working Pattern Site-based in Teesside, NZT Hours: 42 per week Client Overview Our client is a leading organisation in the construction sector, committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and quality across the NZT Project. ResponsibilitiesAct as the nominated person ensuring compliance with the Building Regulations 2010 (as amended) and the Building Safety ActPlan, manage, and monitor the construction phase to ensure full regulatory adherenceVerify that construction aligns with approved for construction (AFC) designsOversee and coordinate inspections, interventions, and assurance activitiesEnsure competence and appropriate supervision of all individuals on siteMaintain and manage the Golden Thread of structured compliance informationCoordinate with stakeholders, including clients, designers, contractors, and regulatorsManage compliance declarations, record keeping, and evidence submissionMust‑have RequirementsDegree in construction, engineering, or related disciplineChartered status (e.g., CEng)Proven senior experience managing complex construction projectsDemonstrable competence under PAS 8672 / BS 8670Comprehensive understanding of Building Regulations, Building Safety Act 2022, and HRB proceduresStrong capability in planning, managing, and monitoring site worksExcellent stakeholder management and leadership skillsNice‑to‑have SkillsExperience performing or overseeing regulatory auditsKnowledge of supply chain competence assurance processesFamiliarity with information management systems supporting the Golden ThreadApply Now If you’re ready to take on this pivotal role and help deliver safe, compliant building works, please submit your application today.The NRL Group connect global companies with the right people to bring engineering projects to life.
