SHE Advisor

We’re looking for an experienced SHE Advisor to join our client in Chorley. This is an excellent opportunity for a Health & Safety professional who enjoys being hands-on within operational environments. If you want to make a real difference by shaping and upholding safety standards across manufacturing and projects, this role offers just that. Salary £50,000 – £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience) Location and Working Pattern Chorley-based role with operational site presence required. While some flexibility exists for ad hoc home working, this is not a fully hybrid position. A large proportion of this role will involve being visible and engaged with operations onsite. ResponsibilitiesProvide competent SHE advice to ensure compliance with legislation, company procedures and ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 standardsMaintain a strong presence across operational areas to deliver practical SHE support for manufacturing, projects and site activitiesIdentify hazards and support risk assessments to control risks effectivelyLead or support investigations into incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing improvementsMonitor activities, intervene where standards are not met, and take appropriate corrective actionDeliver SHE inductions, toolbox talks and training sessions to promote safe behavioursCarry out inspections, audits and observations, ensuring actions are tracked through to completionSupport continuous improvement of SHE processes, systems and performance reportingMust‑have RequirementsNEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and SafetyExperience working within manufacturing, engineering or project environmentsStrong understanding of SHE principles and the ability to apply them in operational settingsWorking knowledge of ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 management systemsStrong communication and influencing skills with the ability to engage teams at all levelsNice‑to‑have SkillsNEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualificationIOSH membership at Graduate or Chartered levelEnvironmental qualification (e.g. IEMA)Experience working under CDM RegulationsBackground in a regulated industry such as nuclear, defence or constructionThe NRL Group connect global companies with the right people to bring engineering projects to life.
