Trainee Recovery Worker

We’re looking for a compassionate and motivated Trainee Recovery Worker to join our team, supporting people in specialist housing services who are working towards recovery from substance use and building more independent, fulfilling lives.

This is a development role, designed to support you to grow into a fully qualified Recovery Worker. With training, guidance, and hands-on experience, you’ll build the skills, confidence and knowledge needed to succeed in this rewarding field.

This isn’t a clinical role, it’s about connection, encouragement, and practical support. You’ll help people feel safe, valued and empowered as they take positive steps towards recovery and independence.

As part of our team, you’ll:

• Support people with day-to-day living, including finances, health, and housing
• Encourage and motivate customers to engage with recovery programmes and treatment services
• Build trusted, supportive relationships using a coaching approach to help people achieve their goals
• Help create a safe, welcoming, and non-judgemental environment
• Assist in developing person-centred recovery plans using a strengths-based approach
• Work alongside experienced Recovery Workers to support case management and deliver effective support
• Stay alert to risks and follow safeguarding and risk management processes

This is a full-time role working across a 24/7 rota, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and overnight shifts. Flexibility is essential.

This role is part of a structured traineeship. Subject to successful completion of training and demonstration of competence, you will progress to a qualified Recovery Worker role after 12 months.
