Atkins Search have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Construction Planner to join a reputable, established construction main contractor based in Derby.

The team is integral to their success, and they’re looking for a skilled Senior Construction Planner to join the business and help shape the delivery of their exciting portfolio of projects.



Role


As a Senior Construction Planner, you will play a key role in supporting both pre-construction and project delivery teams. Working across tender and live projects, you’ll be responsible for developing, monitoring, and maintaining project programmes, ensuring delivery on time and exceed client expectations.



Responsibilities

Develop tender programmes for new bids, providing insight and expertise to support winning strategies
Create detailed delivery programmes for live projects, including design, procurement, construction, and handover stages
Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies
Collaborate with project managers and site teams to ensure seamless project delivery
Prepare progress reports and present updates to clients and stakeholders
Contribute to site logistics and phasing plans, ensuring safe and efficient project delivery
Use planning software, such as Asta Powerproject, to produce clear and effective programmes

Highly organised, proactive individual who thrives in a team-oriented environment. You’ll have a strong background in planning and a passion for delivering successful projects. Key attributes include:

Experience in construction planning, ideally within sectors such as education, healthcare, commercial or similar schemes
Proficiency in planning software, particularly Asta Powerproject
Strong understanding of contract requirements (e.g., NEC and JCT contracts)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
A collaborative approach, with the confidence to contribute to project strategy
