We’re currently recruiting for a Behaviour Buddy to join a Primary School in North Durham on a long-term basis starting in September. This role is temporary. 

You’ll be joining a genuinely inclusive school with a strong values-drive ethos, focused on providing all children with an inspiring, challenging & caring school environment. 

Your main responsibilities will include: 

• Support pupils with behavioural, social and emotional needs, helping them engage positively in lessons and school life.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, using restorative and de-escalation strategies to promote self-regulation.
• Work closely with teachers, the SENDCO and pastoral team to implement behaviour support plans and monitor pupil progress.
• Encourage positive behaviour, resilience and independence by providing consistent guidance, emotional support and positive reinforcement.

Requirements or Skills: 

• Experience supporting children with behavioural, SEMH or SEND needs within a primary school or similar setting.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills, with the ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to work effectively with pupils, staff and families.
• A compassionate, resilient and proactive approach, with a genuine passion for helping children achieve positive outcomes.

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
