• Working Pattern: Hybrid (2 Days WFH on non-duty weeks)

Are you an experienced Children's Social Work Manager seeking your next leadership role with a structured hybrid routine and a well-established team?

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Social Work Team Manager to lead a vibrant locality team in Wakefield. Covering a maternity leave, this role offers an ideal balance of operational team leadership, statutory care planning oversight, and home-working flexibility.

• Predictable Hybrid Routine: Enjoy 2 days per week working from home during non-duty weeks.

• Structured Duty Rota: Duty rotation is organized conveniently on a 1-in-4-week basis.

• Ongoing Stability: Securing a key maternity cover post with strong prospects for contract extension.

• Operational Team Leadership: Directly manage and support a locality team of 8 Social Workers undertaking statutory assessments, Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and PLO/Court work.

• Practice & Case Management: Oversee complex casework, ensure robust court reporting, and drive outcome-focused care planning for children and families across Wakefield.

• Supervision & Development: Provide reflective supervision, manage performance, and maintain high standards of practice across the team.

• Duty Management: Oversee team triage and incoming workload during designated duty weeks (1 in 4).

• Professional Body: Qualified Social Worker with active Social Work England registration.

• Management Experience: Must have proven prior experience managing a frontline statutory Children's Fieldwork / Locality team.

• Frontline Knowledge: In-depth legal and operational knowledge of Section 47 assessments, CIN, CP frameworks, PLO, and court proceedings.
