The Role & Key Responsibilities

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in helping children achieve their academic potential while fostering a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment.

  • Classroom & Teacher Support: Assist the class teacher with daily instruction, resource preparation, and classroom behaviour management.

  • Targeted Interventions: Lead 1:1 sessions and small-group activities tailored to individual pupil needs.

  • Creative Learning Support: Adapt National Curriculum resources on the spot to make learning interactive, fun, and accessible.

  • Safeguarding & Progress: Champion child safety and communicate effectively with teachers and parents regarding student development.

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a primary school or formal childcare setting (preferred).

  • Curriculum Knowledge: Good working knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum.

  • DBS Status: An Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to complete a new check).

  • Compliance & References: Proof of UK eligibility to work (sponsorship unavailable) and 2 recent professional references.

  • Core Skills: Strong communication, adaptability, excellent behaviour management, and a supportive, friendly demeanour.
