Joneshouse Recruitment is proud to be recruiting for a passionate and experienced Lead Mathematics Teacher on behalf of a specialist provision in Cannock.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead and shape the direction of the Maths department while delivering engaging, high-quality lessons that inspire and motivate students. The successful candidate will play a key role in curriculum development, supporting colleagues, and creating a positive learning environment that builds confidence, independence, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, evidence-informed Maths lessons tailored to individual pupil needs, including those with SEND and trauma backgrounds

Lead curriculum development within the Maths department

Use assessment data effectively to monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies

Promote social, emotional, and academic development through trauma-informed approaches

Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning in line with school policies

Collaborate with teaching assistants and specialist staff to ensure effective support

Contribute to whole-school improvement and departmental leadership
Requirements
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a SEND or similar specialist setting
-
Proven experience teaching pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviour

Strong understanding of curriculum planning, assessment, and behaviour management in specialist education

Resilience, empathy, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people
