Location: Shrewsbury, Shropshire (Near Town Centre)
Salary: £29,600 – £30,800 per annum
Additional Earnings: £3,250 – £6,500 per year in sleep-in payments
Total Package: Up to £37,300 per annum
Contract: Full-Time, 39 hours per week
Typical Shifts: 08:00 – 22:00
Joneshouse Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Deputy Children’s Home Manager to join a well-established children’s residential home in Shrewsbury, Shropshire.
We are looking for a Deputy Manager who is passionate about supporting young people and leading a team committed to providing exceptional care.
This role is ideal for either:
A Senior Residential Support Worker looking to take their first step into a Deputy Manager position, or
An experienced Deputy Manager seeking a stable and supportive environment.
As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager and leadership team, supporting the day-to-day running of the home, guiding staff, and ensuring high standards of care and safeguarding are maintained.
You will have the opportunity to contribute ideas, help develop the service, and play a key role in supporting both the team and the young people in the home.

Funded Qualifications
Support available for completing the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.

To be considered for this role, you should have:
Experience
A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a Residential Children’s Home as a Senior Support Worker or Deputy Manager.
Qualifications
NVQ/Diploma Level 3 or 4 in Children and Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent).
Knowledge
Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding procedures, and residential childcare standards.
Operational Skills
Experience assisting with staff rotas, team leadership, and operational responsibilities.
Driving Licence
A full UK driving licence is required.
