Location: Sway, Lymington
Salary: £55,000 per annum

About the Role

Joneshouse Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Registered Manager to lead an Ofsted-registered children’s home in Sway, Lymington.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated leader to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people. You will be responsible for the overall day-to-day management of the home, ensuring exceptional standards of care, regulatory compliance, and positive outcomes for every child.

The successful candidate will create a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment while leading and developing a committed staff team.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Management

• Lead the day-to-day operations of the children’s home.
• Ensure the home consistently meets Ofsted standards, striving to achieve Good or Outstanding ratings.
• Recruit, supervise, support, and develop staff.
• Promote a positive, child-centred culture where children feel safe, valued, and supported.
• Maintain high standards of professional practice in line with current legislation and best practice.

Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure the home operates in full compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
• Maintain up-to-date policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
• Complete all required documentation, reports, and statutory notifications.
• Manage safeguarding concerns appropriately and in accordance with current legislation and guidance.

Care Planning & Outcomes

• Oversee the development and implementation of individual care plans.
• Work collaboratively with social workers, education providers, healthcare professionals, and families.
• Monitor children’s progress and ensure they receive the support needed to achieve positive outcomes.

Budget & Resource Management

• Manage the home’s budget responsibly.
• Ensure resources are used effectively to provide a safe, welcoming, and homely environment.
• Monitor expenditure and maintain accurate financial records.

Essential Requirements

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete).
• Minimum of two years’ experience working in a residential childcare setting within the last five years.
• At least one year’s experience in a supervisory or management role within a children’s residential home.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and Ofsted regulations.
• Eligible to register with Ofsted as a Registered Manager.

Desirable

• Experience managing a children’s home rated Good or Outstanding by Ofsted.
• Therapeutic care experience or relevant training.
• Full UK driving licence.
