SEMH Teaching Assistant - Chichester

Salary: £93-£100 per day (12-week placement) | £22,000-£23,500 per annum upon permanent transfer
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:15am-3:30pm

We are recruiting for a SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Chichester supporting primary and secondary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This specialist setting provides a nurturing and supportive environment for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. With small class sizes, a personalised approach to learning and a strong focus on wellbeing, staff work together to help young people build confidence, resilience and positive outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative team, gain valuable experience in SEND and SEMH education, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people.

The Role:

  • Support pupils with SEMH needs in and out of the classroom
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and engagement in learning
  • Build strong relationships and act as a positive role model
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to help pupils succeed

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people (education, care, youth work or similar)
  • GCSE Maths and English (Required)
  • Right to work in UK or valid visa
  • Calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for helping others
