Transport Planner

Forde Recruitment, a leading provider of workers, is seeking an Experienced Transport Planner to join our client's busy warehouse and logistics operation in their Barnsley office. Transport Planner Responsibilities:

• Arrange and establish time-bound plans for deliveries, collections, and other logistics activities.
• Collaborate closely with various departments and teams within the company to ensure effective plan execution.
• Maintain regular communication with third-party logistics companies, demonstrating exceptional time-management skills.
• Monitor and oversee order and fulfilment phases to ensure seamless business operations.
• Identify and improve inefficiencies in supply chains, including transport methods and logistics-related challenges.
• Develop and maintain strong internal and external business relationships.
• Create and implement plans and strategies in line with company policies and regulations, as directed by senior management.
• Ensure appropriate workload allocation to complete daily plans in a timely manner.

Transport Planner Required Skills:

• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Thrive in a challenging and high-pressure environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Experience working in a fast-paced logistics team, managing daily planning and operations for a large fleet of drivers.
• Customer-focused with excellent booking management and query resolution skills.

(Preferred Skills):

• Extensive knowledge of UK geography and public transport accessibility and timings.
• IT Literate with high competency with Excel
• Proficiency in Systems, Applications, and Products (SAP) is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional interpersonal abilities.
• Previous experience working in Warehousing, Traffic and Logistics environments
