Join a Busy and Supportive School Team Are you an experienced school administrator with a background in HR? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a strong understanding of school compliance, safeguarding, and recruitment processes?
We are seeking a dedicated School HR Administrator to join a welcoming school in Ilford. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-oriented professional with previous school experience to play a key role in supporting the day-to-day HR operations of the school.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the administration of recruitment campaigns, including advert postings, interview coordination, and candidate communication
- Processing pre-employment checks, including Enhanced DBS checks, references, and Right to Work documentation
- Maintaining accurate and confidential employee records
- Supporting staff onboarding and induction processes
- Monitoring staff absence records and maintaining HR databases
- Preparing HR letters, contracts, and other employment-related documentation
- Assisting with payroll administration and staff data management
- Ensuring compliance with safeguarding, GDPR, and employment legislation
- Acting as a first point of contact for HR-related queries from staff and visitors
- Previous experience working within a school setting
- Experience in HR, recruitment, or school administration
- Knowledge of safer recruitment and safeguarding procedures
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure
- Experience using school management systems such as SIMS, Arbor, or Bromcom
- Understanding of education-sector HR practices
- Knowledge of employment legislation and HR compliance
- CIPD qualification or equivalent HR training
- Competitive hourly rate of £16 - 20 per hour
