If this sounds like the place for you, we’d love to hear from you! ABOUT THE ROLE As a Commis Chef, your primary role will be to assist the Chef de Partie in preparing food and performing basic cooking tasks. You will work in different areas of the kitchen, such as vegetables, fish and meat, and sauces, usually on a six-month rotation programme. Other responsibilities will include:  • Supporting all chefs to manage and deliver all catering services throughout the home, ensuring resident choice, dignity, confidentiality, and safety are maintained. • Participating in meetings with residents and Heads of Departments to discuss and agree on catering functions across the home and address residents' special needs or dietary requirements. This must include knowledge of cultural and religious preferences. • Preparing nutritional food and beverages to a high standard, as directed by the Chefs, promptly and in accordance with agreed mealtimes. • Preparing special diet meals as needed and as directed by the Chefs. ABOUT YOU  To be successful in your application, you will live our values of caring, supportive, honest, respectful, and accountable in all that you do.  Our ideal candidate must: • Hold a catering qualification such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ or equivalent. • Hold Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. • Have a minimum of 1-year catering experience. • Demonstrate compassion and commitment to the delivery of high-quality culinary services to residents. • Be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice. With our vision of "creating meaningful lives together," we proudly offer exceptional care across our growing network of over 100 homes, building a supportive and inspiring environment where employees feel valued and empowered every day.
