Junior Buyer

Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement support role, with confident supplier communication and strong Excel skills.

A leading family-owned food manufacturer are currently recruiting for a Junior Buyer on a full-time, permanent basis in Swindon, Wiltshire.

Role: Junior Buyer
Type: Permanent
Location: Swindon, Wiltshire (hybrid working pattern - 2/3 days onsite after successful probation)
Salary: £28,000

Key responsibilities for the Junior Buyer will include and will not be limited to:

• Running MRP reports for raw materials and packaging
• Chasing purchase orders, expediting deliveries, and escalating supply issues where required
• Maintaining supplier relationships and obtaining updated pricing
• Monitoring and responding to the purchasing inbox and day-to-day supply queries
• Keeping purchasing spreadsheets, reports, and system data accurate and up to date
• Supporting tenders and other procurement-related processes as needed

Key skills and experience required for Junior Buyer job applicant and will not be limited to:

• Procurement or purchasing experience, with a proactive and organised approach
• Strong supplier communication skills, including confidence making phone calls
• Solid Excel skills and experience maintaining spreadsheets and purchasing data
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal stock held
• Commercial awareness and a positive, solutions-focused attitude
• Food or FMCG manufacturing experience (nice to have)
