Legal Cashier

Leeds | Full-Time | Office-Based | Permanent | Salary DOE

We are working with a well-established law firm based in Leeds who are looking to appoint an experienced Legal Cashier to join their close-knit team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Legal Cashier who enjoys having responsibility and autonomy, as you will take ownership of the firm’s day-to-day accounts function as the sole Legal Cashier within the business. The firm has a friendly team of around 20 people, offering a supportive and personable working environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for the smooth running of the firm’s legal accounts function, including:

• Managing the day-to-day legal cashiering and accounts processes
• Processing client and office account transactions
• Posting receipts, payments and transfers
• Completing bank reconciliations
• Processing and reconciling client account balances
• Handling invoices, payments and office account transactions
• Assisting with month-end processes and reporting
• Ensuring compliance with the SRA Accounts Rules
• Dealing with queries from fee earners, clients and third parties
• Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring accounts procedures are followed correctly

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience working as a Legal Cashier within a law firm and will be comfortable managing the accounts function independently.

You will have a good understanding of the SRA Accounts Rules, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage your workload effectively. As this is a standalone role, you will need to be confident working autonomously, while still being a team player and comfortable liaising with colleagues across the firm.
