Job summary
There has never been a more exciting time to join Homes England’s Affordable Housing team. Following the recent Spending Review, a £39bn, 10-year Social and Affordable Homes Programme is now underway—creating a significant opportunity to shape housing delivery at scale.
Job description
You will be part of a team working closely with government and wider Affordable Housing to deliver this ambitious programme. We are looking for individuals who are motivated by the opportunity to support leadership and shape strong programme management.
Working closely with the Senior Manager Business Development, you will play a key role in supporting Affordable Housing’s Senior Leadership Team, delivering on a range of activities including key strategic projects, business planning and briefings around social and affordable housing.
You will provide clear, evidence-based insight to senior leaders, including the Director of Affordable Housing, helping to shape decisions that deliver the strategic priorities and programme ambitions.
You will ensure a consistent and high-quality approach to the team’s resourcing workplan, involving the co-ordination and facilitation of recruitment.
The role includes working closely with colleagues across Affordable Housing and the wider Agency, building strong relationships with senior leaders. We value strong collaboration, diversity in experience and perspective, with the aim to foster good decision making and problem solving within the team.
Person specification
It is essential that you can work collaboratively and develop effective relationships both internally and externally, work within a political environment and adapt your style to maximise contributions from a diverse range of stakeholders.
You will have strong communications skills and an eye for detail and be confident at juggling multiple projects and tasks. You’ll be comfortable leading or contributing to operational and strategic tasks through clear action or advice, working at managerial level.
You will be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders at a senior level, and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as an Affordable Housing team. You will enjoy working in an innovative, fun and engaging way and be able to negotiate and persuade.
