Job summary

As a Senior Cyber Security Risk Manager you play a pivotal role within the Digital and Information Directorate, responsible for safeguarding the organisation’s digital assets in a rapidly evolving threat landscape. Reporting to the Lead Cyber Security Risk Manager, you lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of cyber risk management practices across the Crown Prosecution Service.

The Crown Prosecution Service is based in England and Wales. You must be aged 16 before starting in this role.

As part of this role, you are expected to undertake direct line management responsibilities.

• you develop and maintain comprehensive cyber risk management processes that align with industry best practices.
• you foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure cyber risk considerations are integrated into all business processes.
• you drive continuous improvement in cyber risk processes, incorporating emerging risks such as those related to AI systems and autonomous decision-making.
• you stay current with emerging cyber threats, risk management techniques, and regulatory changes.
• you encourage a culture of learning and development within the team, promoting the sharing of knowledge and best practices.

Person specification

To be eligible to apply, you need:

• hold one or more recognised cyber security certifications, or be actively working towards certification, such as CompTIA Security+, CISMP, CISM or an equivalent industry-recognised qualification.
• have a minimum of two years’ demonstrable experience in a cyber security, information security, risk, assurance, incident management, or related role.
• have practical experience in cyber risk management, including identifying, assessing, documenting, and supporting the treatment of cyber security risks. This includes being able to communicate cyber security risks, issues, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• demonstrate experience in incident response, including supporting the identification, triage, escalation, containment, recovery, and lessons learned activities for cyber security incidents.
• have experience in security assurance, including assessing security controls, supporting compliance activities, reviewing evidence, and contributing to assurance reporting.
• demonstrate experience across wider cyber security domains, such as threat intelligence, vulnerability management, cyber awareness, education and training, or other relevant areas that support effective cyber security assurance.
• show a good understanding of recognised cyber security frameworks, standards, or good practice guidance, such as ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NCSC CAF, Cyber Essentials, or equivalent.
