About the role

All about the Role 

This is a fixed Term Contract until 31/3/27 

Salary quoted is the annual equivalent and will be pro rata.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual that will drive forward the day to day management of the city centre.You will work with colleagues to promote the city centre and the wider area to drive footfall and dwell time.

As the City Centre Manger, you will be responsible for the leadership, and coordination of the day‑to‑day management of the city centre. Ensuring the city centre is safe, vibrant, and well‑managedensuring that it becomes a better place to live, work, invest, and play.

This role acts as the single point of operational accountability for the city centre working across council services and with external partners to deliver a collaborative, visible and effective city centre offer.  You will be responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary approach across place management, community safety, enforcement, events, commercial activity and partnership working.

As City Centre Manager, you will be part of Safer Communities, a team responsible for delivering a wide range of services that address issues affecting communities across Peterborough. The city centre is a key priority for the authority, and in this role you will play an important part in improving the city centre for residents, visitors and businesses

 All about You

You'll have experience of city centre or place-based operational management and knowledge of key issues facing city centre.

You will be able to manage events, develop and deliver new policies and procedures.

Demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.

Experience of managing staff and building strong, effective working relationships with a wide range of internal colleagues and external organisations and partners.  

A relevant business degree, or equivalent experience in city centre, place-based or operational management.

Ability and willingness to work out-of-office hours depending on needs of the services including weekends and evenings.
