Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 Basic DOE + Overtime + Excellent Benefits + 10% pension

About the Role

An established engineering services organisation supporting customers across the Oil & Gas, Power Generation and Process Industries is seeking a Mechanical Field Service Engineer / Technician to join its specialist Valve Services team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a mechanically minded engineer who enjoys hands-on work, customer interaction and travelling to a wide variety of industrial sites. Whilst previous control valve experience would be advantageous, we are equally interested in candidates from a broader mechanical maintenance background and will invest significantly in training and development for the right individual.

Engineers with experience in in-situ overhaul, plant maintenance, shutdowns, outages, rotating equipment or critical asset maintenance are particularly encouraged to apply.

This is a genuinely field-based position and will suit someone who enjoys variety, thrives in industrial environments and is willing to travel extensively when customer requirements demand.

Working Pattern & Travel

The role follows the cyclical nature of the industries we support, with a blend of workshop-based and field service activities throughout the year.

Winter Period (November – February)

Traditionally a quieter operational period with a greater focus on workshop activities, including:

  • Inspection, refurbishment and overhaul of control valves and associated equipment
  • Equipment testing and quality checks
  • Preparation of equipment for upcoming customer projects
  • Supporting engineering and service operations from our Middleton workshop

Summer Outage Season (March – October)

This period sees a significant increase in customer project activity, including:

  • Planned plant outages and shutdowns
  • Maintenance campaigns
  • Commissioning and start-up support
  • On-site valve servicing and refurbishment

Travel will be required across:

  • UK

Regular overnight stays and periods away from home should be expected during busy project periods.

This position is ideally suited to an engineer who enjoys field-based work and has the flexibility to travel where customer needs dictate.
