About the role
We're looking for an enthusiastic Hospitality Assistant to join the opening team on a full time basis, at Yarrow, our brand new restaurant in the heart of Tunbridge Wells.
Yarrow is a fresh dining destination, open to both the public and our retirement village residents, serving great food and genuine hospitality in a stylish, welcoming setting. This is a fantastic opportunity to help launch a new restaurant, working alongside a passionate team dedicated to creating memorable experiences for every guest.
Alongside a competitive salary plus Tronc payments, you'll enjoy a better work-life balance than many traditional hospitality roles, thanks to our more sociable opening hours.
What you'll be doing
- Delivering friendly, attentive service to every guest from arrival through to departure.
- Taking food and drink orders and serving meals and beverages to a high standard.
- Preparing and maintaining restaurant and bar areas, ensuring they are clean, organised and ready for service.
- Handling payments accurately and confidently using our till systems.
- Building positive relationships with residents, visitors and members of the public.
- Supporting the team during busy service periods to ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene and health & safety.
- Working collaboratively with the kitchen and front of house teams to deliver exceptional hospitality.
What we're looking for
- A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering excellent customer service.
- Previous hospitality or customer service experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
- A friendly, positive and professional attitude.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- A willingness to learn and develop.
- Flexibility to work a rota that includes some evenings and weekends.
What we offer
- Competitive salary plus Tronc payments.
- A great work-life balance with more sociable opening hours than many hospitality venues.
- Medicash healthcare plan.
- Pension scheme.
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata for part time colleagues).
- Birthday leave.
- Reward and recognition schemes.
- Paid volunteering days.
- Ongoing training and development opportunities.
- The opportunity to be part of an exciting new restaurant from the very beginning.
