Service Administrator

Service Area: Early Help & Partnerships

Grade 5 - £35,520 - £38,739pa

About the Role

We are seeking an organised, reliable and proactive Service Administrator to provide high-quality administrative support across the Early Help and Partnership Service. This is a key role supporting senior managers and ensuring the smooth and effective operation of services that support children, young people and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing communication, including handling telephone and email enquiries
  • Organising diaries and schedules for the Head of Service and Service Managers
  • Arranging and facilitating meetings, including preparing agendas and taking minutes
  • Ensuring compliance with policies, procedures and GDPR requirements
  • Maintaining accurate records and databases
  • Coordinating with internal departments and external agencies
  • Providing cover for other Service Administrators across the  Early Help and Partnerhships Service
  • Travelling to meetings across the borough 

The duties and responsibilities outlined above are indicative of the role and are not exhaustive. The post holder will be required to undertake other reasonable duties as directed by their manager.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience providing administrative support within a local authority, health, education or similar environment
  • Experience supporting senior management, including diary management
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other IT systems
  • Experience of arranging and supporting meetings, including agenda preparation and minute writing
  • Experience working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment without compromising accuracy
  • Ability to manage information and data effectively and securely
  • Experience communicating effectively with internal and external agencies
  • Understanding of key values and behaviours required in social care
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information in line with GDPR requirements
  • Flexible, adaptable and able to work independently and as part of a team
