About the role

Job Introduction

The pay range for this role will be £30,518 - £33,143 (pro rata for part time colleagues).

We’re looking forward to welcoming new colleagues under this refreshed framework of pay, terms, and conditions. To promote fairness and consistency, all new starters will begin at the bottom of the pay band. This reflects our commitment to equity across the organisation and aligns with the approach taken with existing staff during the transition. While the starting salary is fixed, the role offers excellent scope for growth, meaningful contribution, and being part of a forward-thinking team.

Role Purpose

We have an exciting opportunity for Financial Assessment Officers to join our Adult Social Care Financial Assessment Team at BCP Council. The main purposes are to work with Adult Social Care practitioners to support clients holistically and to ensure those who are in receipt of chargeable Adult Social Care services are financially assessed to determine how much they should pay towards their care.

Main Responsibilities

To process financial assessment applications and correspondence accurately and efficiently, in accordance with policy and statutory requirements.

To communicate effectively with clients (or their representatives) through visits or by telephone, email, or letter and to liaise with other council departments or external agencies as required.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an individual with an eye for detail and a strong commitment to the delivery of a professional customer service.

Candidates must have:

  • Good interpersonal, communication, numeracy, and literacy skills
  • The ability to work with a wide range of people
  • The ability to keep accurate written records
  • A flexible approach to change and working practices
  • The ability to use data to inform the decision-making process in line with procedures and legislative requirements.

Whilst experience of working within an Adult Social Care or Welfare Benefits environment is desirable, if you are keen to learn, are proactive, and are committed to continued service and personal development, we would like to hear from you.

Full training would be given to the successful candidates.

For an informal chat about the role, please contact Jonathan Ingram on [phone removed].
