Homes England is launching the National Housing Bank, a government-backed investment platform to accelerate housing delivery across England.

Working within the Transaction Execution team, you will lead the successful delivery of residential development finance transactions from Credit Approval through to Contract. The role is responsible for managing documentation, due diligence and stakeholder engagement, ensuring transactions are executed in line with approved terms, policies and risk standards. You will work closely with internal teams and external advisers to identify and mitigate risks, maintain execution quality and support the delivery of new homes through effective management of development finance loans.

The opportunity
Responsibilities include:
• Lead residential development finance transactions from Credit Approval through to Contract execution.
• Manage and coordinate legal documentation, due diligence and transaction workflows, ensuring deadlines and budget requirements are met.
• Liaise with internal teams, Borrowers, Lawyers, Valuers, Monitoring Surveyors and other professional advisers to drive transactions to Contract.
• Review and challenge valuation reports, legal opinions and other specialist due diligence to identify and mitigate risks.
• Prepare and manage transaction approval documentation, variance reports and handover materials for Portfolio Management.
• Maintain accurate transaction records, track key milestones and proactively manage borrower relationships throughout the execution process.
Person specification
Candidate profile
• Significant experience working with SME developers, executing residential development finance or real estate lending transactions.
• Strong understanding of development finance structures, loan documentation and security arrangements.
• Proven experience negotiating legal and commercial contracts within a lending or real estate finance environment.
• Ability to assess complex due diligence, including valuations, legal and monitoring surveyor reports, and challenge findings where necessary.
• Strong commercial judgement with the ability to identify, evaluate and mitigate lending and transaction risks.
• Proven ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously, prioritising workloads and driving deals through to Contract within agreed timelines.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience working effectively with borrowers, advisers, legal teams and senior internal stakeholders.
