Special Needs Classroom Support (Secondary)

Join us and gain access to training, personal development opportunities, and ongoing support. We’re currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a Secondary School in Newcastle on a long or short-term basis starting in September. This role is temporary/permanent/temp-to-perm.

Your main responsibilities will include: 

• Supporting pupils one-to-one and in small groups, responding to their individual needs 

• Helping deliver catch-up sessions to close learning gaps 

• Working alongside the class teacher on lesson planning and adapting resources 

• Promoting an accepting, inclusive classroom where every student feels they belong 

Requirements or Skills: 

• Recent experience working in a school or education setting 

• Solid numeracy and literacy skills 

• A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar — or equivalent hands-on experience 

• Comfortable taking direction from the class teacher and working as part of a team

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
