Our client is an established independent group and is looking for a qualified Dispensing Optician to join their friendly and supportive practice. The Role

As a Dispensing Optician, you will play a vital role in delivering outstanding patient care by providing expert dispensing advice, recommending the most appropriate optical solutions, and ensuring every patient receives an exceptional experience from consultation through to collection.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service in a friendly, professional, and patient-focused manner

• Participate in the handover process from the Optometrist, ensuring a seamless patient journey

• Advise patients on suitable frames, lenses, and optical products based on their clinical and lifestyle needs

• Take accurate dispensing measurements using appropriate technology where required

• Carry out spectacle quality checks, fittings, and adjustments to ensure optimum comfort and vision

• Perform focimetry and monitor spectacle orders, liaising with suppliers and patients when necessary

• Complete accurate patient records and administrative tasks in line with GDPR requirements

• Handle financial transactions accurately and securely

• Support and mentor Dispensing Assistants and assist Optical Assistants when required

• Carry out minor spectacle and hearing aid repairs

• Resolve patient queries professionally, escalating concerns where appropriate

• Maintain excellent product knowledge and ensure Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and GOC registration remain up to date

• Promote a welcoming practice environment and maintain high standards throughout the practice

About You

• Qualified Dispensing Optician

• Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC)

• Passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and patient care

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong organisational and IT skills

• Enthusiastic, adaptable, and keen to continue learning

• A collaborative team player with a professional approach
