Product Design Engineer – Mechanical
Robots, Robotics, Electro/Mechanical
Competitive Salary Plus Benefits
Step into a role where your mechanical thinking has real-world impact. As a Product Design Engineer – Mechanical, you will help design mechanical systems built to thrive in harsh industrial environments, where accuracy and documentation matter. This is a rare opportunity to own work that directly influences product reliability, from early R&D through to design validation and release. If you enjoy collaborating across disciplines and taking products from concept to manufacturing-ready outputs, the Product Design Engineer position offers the momentum, autonomy, and career development to match.
As Product Design Engineer – Mechanical you will :
- Own mechanical product development across the full lifecycle, from early R&D through to design validation and release, in a fast-moving industrial setting.
- Create DFM-ready drawings and the documentation that makes manufacturing smoother and change control clearer.
- Manage BOMs and help lead ECR processes, ensuring engineering changes are tracked accurately and implemented effectively.
- Collaborate closely with electronics and software teams, bringing enough technical literacy to remove bottlenecks rather than create them.
- Deliver design outputs that meet challenging constraints such as corrosion resistance, extreme temperatures, confined access, and high-consequence failure modes.
- Support handovers to manufacturing by keeping drawings and configurations consistent and reliable.
The Product Design Engineer – Mechanical will bring:
- At least 2+ years in a mechanical engineering role, with demonstrable robotics or field-hardware design experience (portfolio required).
- SolidWorks proficiency and confidence producing clear, build-ready documentation.
- Strong DFM discipline, with a practical approach to design for manufacture and assembly.
- Hands-on experience owning BOM/CBOM management and leading ECR processes.
- Enough electronics and software literacy to collaborate confidently across teams.
This Product Design Engineer – Mechanical role sits within the industrial hardware and engineering environment, supporting products that must perform reliably in confined spaces and demanding field conditions. By creating manufacturing-ready designs, maintaining controlled documentation, and partnering with electronics and software colleagues, you will help this company deliver dependable solutions that matter. The work is built around careful decision-making, accountability, and continuous improvement, with outputs that influence the end user experience and long-term performance.
