Duration: 3-6 Months

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Scheduler to support the delivery of major thermal power generation projects currently progressing through development and pre-construction phases.
This role will focus on the preparation, development, and review of Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) schedules across complex energy infrastructure programmes. The successful candidate will work closely with project developers, owners, engineering teams, contractors, permitting specialists, and other key stakeholders to ensure robust project planning, schedule integration, and critical path management.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a large-scale, low-emission power generation development that combines advanced gas-fired generation with carbon capture technology and is planned for phased expansion over the coming years.

Project Overview

The project is a commercial-scale thermal power generation facility, with an initial generating capacity of approximately 80MW and long-term plans to expand to 1GW.
The development integrates conventional gas turbine technology with advanced post-combustion carbon capture systems, supporting the delivery of reliable, lower-carbon electricity generation. The project is currently advancing through development milestones, with Final Investment Decision expected during the next phase of delivery and commercial operations targeted later in the decade.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain integrated project schedules for power generation projects.
  • Collaborate with project teams, end users, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to establish project timelines and delivery strategies.
  • Review scheduling approaches, baseline programmes, and periodic schedule updates.
  • Analyse project schedules to identify risks, delays, and opportunities for optimisation.
  • Develop logical sequencing of activities, contract durations, and phased delivery plans.
  • Support critical path analysis and schedule performance reporting.
  • Review contractor schedules and assess compliance with project requirements.
  • Incorporate engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and permitting activities into master schedules.
  • Integrate key stakeholder milestones, EPC deliverables, regulatory constraints, and commercial requirements into programme plans.
  • Review claims, extension of time requests, and schedule impacts associated with project changes.
  • Support the preparation of schedule analysis reports, mitigation plans, and responses relating to commercial and contractual matters.
  • Work closely with development teams to accurately represent project execution strategies within the schedule.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Environmental Services, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in scheduling EPC power generation or major energy infrastructure projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Demonstrated experience developing complex project schedules, including logic development, resource planning, contract durations, and project phasing.
  • Strong understanding of EPC project delivery methodologies.
  • Experience reviewing and analysing claims, extension of time submissions, and associated cost impacts.
  • Ability to perform schedule risk analysis and critical path assessment.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience supporting energy, power generation, carbon capture, or industrial infrastructure projects in the United States or Gulf Coast regions.
  • Experience working on large-scale thermal generation, combined-cycle, carbon capture, or similar energy transition projects.
  • Familiarity with permitting-driven schedules and regulatory approval processes.

Why Apply?

  • Opportunity to support a flagship low-carbon energy infrastructure development.
  • Work alongside industry-leading EPC, engineering, and development teams.
  • Flexible remote working arrangement.
  • High-profile project environment with significant future growth potential.
  • Competitive contract opportunity within a major energy programme.

Interested candidates should submit their CV detailing relevant EPC power generation scheduling experience, Primavera P6 expertise, and involvement in major energy infrastructure projects.
