Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: H3 Point 5-6

This is a role for someone who will provide day-to-day one-to-one and small-group learning support so that students with SEND can access the curriculum, make academic progress and build confidence; you will work closely with subject teachers and the SENCO to put EHCP strategies into practice and monitor their impact.
What you'll be doing
- Deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions (literacy, numeracy and subject-specific support) both inside and outside the classroom
- Implement EHCP strategies and agreed behaviour/support plans, tracking and reporting on impact
- Plan and prepare resources in coordination with class teachers
- Establish supportive relationships that promote inclusion and independence
- Contribute to Health Care Plan (HCP) reviews and record keeping for students you support
- Support students with complex needs to access learning and daily routines
- Attend staff meetings, SEN reviews, INSET and training as required (some duties may occasionally fall outside normal hours)
- Maintain confidentiality and follow safeguarding procedures at all times
What we're looking for
Essential
- Evidence of working with children or young people in an education or similar setting
- Ability to support students 1:1 and in small groups and to follow planned programmes
- Good written and oral communication skills for liaising with teachers, parents and students
- Teamworking skills and the ability to take direction from the SENCO and class teachers
- Commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality and equality
Desirable
- Experience applying techniques to modify behaviour and promote positive learning
- Experience of implementing or supporting EHCP strategies and monitoring impact
- Curriculum awareness (particularly KS3/KS4 literacy and numeracy support)

You will join the academy’s Learning Support Assistant team, reporting to the SENCO and working closely with teaching staff and senior leaders. The LSA team is described by the Trust as supportive, collaborative and committed to personalised development for staff and students.
