Primary Supply Teaching Assistant
  • Location: Newton Abbot and surrounding areas

  • Pay: £92.56 - £95.00 per day

  • Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM (Monday to Friday, flexible days)

This role is ideal for anyone with classroom experience looking for the ultimate flexibility. Whether you want to work two days a week or five, supply work allows you to choose your own schedule while making a real impact in local primary schools across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.


Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Classroom Support: Assist the class teacher with preparing resources and maintaining a positive, engaging learning environment.

  • Targeted Intervention: Provide vital one-to-one and small group support, focusing on literacy and numeracy.

  • Inclusion: Support students with diverse learning needs, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

  • Behaviour Management: Help manage classroom behaviour positively, encouraging good conduct and focus.

  • Supervision: Ensure student safety and well-being during break times and lunchtimes.

  • Compliance: Follow individual school policies and safeguarding procedures to maintain a safe environment.


What We Are Looking For:
  • Prior experience working with children within a classroom or similar educational setting.

  • A reliable, punctual, and professional attitude.

  • The ability to think on your feet and adapt quickly to different school environments and year groups.

  • A genuine passion for supporting children's education and emotional growth.

  • An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
