About the role

Team Leader - Children Residential Care
Location: Blackpool & Preesall (FY areas)
Setting: 2 bedded EBD homes (Emotional Behavioural Difficulties)

What you'll be doing:

  • As a team leader, you will lead and support staff across shift patterns (currently 1 on 2 off, with discussions about 2 on 4 off)
  • Work in homes registered for up to 2 young people with EBD (Emotional Behavioural Difficulties), challenging behaviours and mental health needs
  • Be hands-on in day-to-day care, maintaining positive routines and professional boundaries
  • Help develop colleagues through training and shadowing during on-boarding and beyond
  • Contribute to a safe, supportive culture where progress is noticed and celebrated


What you'll bring as a Team Leader:

  • A Level 3 qualification in a relevant area (or be actively working towards Level 3 or Level 4)
  • Strong communication and confidence to lead a team on shift
  • Empathy, resilience and the ability to stay steady with challenging situations
  • A commitment to high standards of care and safeguarding-minded practice


Additional information:

  • Team Leader Pay: £16 per hour while working towards Level 3 or Level 4, £17 per hour with Level 3 or Level 4 qualified status
  • Sleep-in allowance: £75 per sleep
  • Expected hours: 150-180 hours per month (typically 10-12 shifts at 15 hours per shift)
