About the role

Admin Officer


Location: Birkenhead County Court, 76 Hamilton Street, Birkenhead, CH41 5EN
Pay Rate: £12.86 per hour (first 12 weeks) rising to £13.25 per hour thereafter
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm
Working Pattern: Fully Office Based
Assignment Length: Until 31 March 2027, with potential for extension
Clearance Required: Basic DBS Check- Provided VIA Brook Street

About the Role


Brook Street is currently recruiting on behalf of HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) for an Admin Officer to join the team at Birkenhead County Court.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience within the Civil and Family Court environment, supporting the administration of justice and providing an important service to court users and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities


As an Admin Officer, your duties will include:

  • Preparing papers and files for court hearings, tribunals and meetings
  • Producing and processing court documentation
  • Creating, maintaining and updating records on internal systems
  • Accurate data entry and record management
  • Drafting standard letters and legal correspondence
  • Supporting and clerking Civil and Family Court hearings and tribunals
  • Assisting court users and responding to general enquiries
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the efficient running of court operations

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have strong administration and organisational skills
  • Be confident using IT systems and data entry applications
  • Possess excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Be able to manage a varied workload and work to deadlines
  • Deliver excellent customer service in a professional environment

Training & Support

  • Full training will be provided throughout the assignment
  • Ongoing support and development available whilst in post
  • Pre-booked holidays can be accommodated where reasonable
