About the role
Location: Gorseinon / Penllergaer, Swansea (SA4 4ED)
Pay: £16.00 to £19.00 per hour (Weekly Pay plus Holiday Pay)

Behind every incident of challenging behaviour is a young person attempting to communicate trauma, confusion, or unmet needs. We believe that children in looked after care deserve carers who look beyond surface reactions and provide unwavering support during their toughest moments.
Randstad Care is assembling a dedicated response team across Gorseinon and Penllergaer. You will be supporting children who live with complex neurodevelopmental profiles, physical disabilities, learning difficulties, or severe emotional distress.
This opening is ideally suited to candidates with transferable experience as a Youth Mentor, Support Worker, Therapeutic Support Worker, Family Support Worker, Residential Care Worker, or Sports Coach.
How you will make a difference
Promote Growth: Support young people with daily living tasks, life skills development, and positive community integration.
De escalate Tension: Step into volatile situations calmly, utilising professional de escalation tactics to maintain harmony.
Multi Agency Collaboration: Work closely alongside social workers, therapists, and internal managers to implement care plans.
What you will bring
Sector Experience: Minimum 6 months paid support work experience within UK social care, youth services, or residential care.
Mindset: A compassionate, grounded, and non judgemental approach to managing high risk situations and distressed behaviour.
Driving Status: A full UK driving licence and personal transport are essential to support young people with appointments and outings.
