About the Role
Zest Education is working in partnership with a well-established secondary school in Wolverhampton to recruit a qualified Music Teacher with QTS for a long-term supply role starting in September 2026.
This is a full teaching role, including planning, marking, and assessment responsibilities. The successful candidate will deliver Music across KS3 and KS4, with a focus on engaging lessons and strong student outcomes.
The position is expected to continue on a long-term basis, with the potential to run across the full academic year.
The school is supportive and well-organised, with a strong focus on creativity, engagement, and consistent classroom practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Music lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Teach across KS3 and KS4, including GCSE Music where applicable
- Complete all planning, marking, and assessment responsibilities
- Encourage creativity, performance, and musical understanding
- Monitor pupil progress and support achievement across ability levels
- Maintain positive behaviour and structured classroom routines
- Contribute to the wider Music and Performing Arts department
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
- PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification
- A degree in Music or a related subject
- Experience teaching Music at KS3 and KS4 (GCSE desirable)
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Passion for music education and student engagement
- Ability to commit to a long-term placement
