Finance Manager – igaming Africa (Remote)

A fast-growing iGaming operator expanding across multiple African markets is seeking a Finance Manager to lead financial operations across its sportsbook and casino brands. The business is in a scale-up phase, launching into new geographies and strengthening its leadership structure to support rapid growth.

Role Overview

The Finance Manager will take full ownership of financial planning, reporting, operations, and compliance across multiple territories. The role requires a commercially minded finance professional with strong analytical capability, deep understanding of gaming revenue models, and experience operating in multi-market environments.

You will work closely with senior leadership to ensure financial stability, optimise performance, manage risk, and support market expansion initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Strategy

• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.

• Build financial models to support market expansion, product launches, and commercial projects.

• Provide financial insights to guide strategic decision-making.

Financial Operations & Controls

• Manage day-to-day finance operations including reconciliations, settlements, payouts, and treasury activities.

• Oversee cash flow, FX management, and banking relationships across jurisdictions.

• Establish and maintain strong internal financial controls.

• Ensure accurate and timely month-end closing and consolidated reporting.

Performance Analysis

• Analyse key metrics (GGR, NGR, CPA, retention, cost per active, bonus liability, etc.).

• Prepare regular performance dashboards for leadership.

• Partner with marketing and product teams to optimise spend and improve ROI.

Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with local gaming tax laws, reporting requirements, and audit standards.

• Coordinate external audits and liaise with tax authorities where required.

• Support licensing processes and ensure financial documentation meets regulatory standards.

Process Improvement & Automation

• Implement new financial systems, dashboards, and reporting workflows.

• Drive automation across reconciliation, reporting, and revenue tracking.

• Create standardised processes across all operating markets.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with operations, marketing, CRM, product, and tech teams.

• Provide financial guidance on promotions, campaigns, partnerships, and payouts.

• Support risk management initiatives and governance frameworks.

Experience & Requirements

Essential

• 5+ years’ experience in finance roles, preferably within iGaming

• Strong understanding of GGR/NGR, gaming taxes, betting product revenue flows, and bonus structures.

• Experience managing financial operations across multiple African markets is a major advantage.

• Strong Excel/financial modelling skills and experience with reporting tools.

• Proven track record in establishing financial controls and managing compliance.

• Ability to operate in fast-paced, remote-first, entrepreneurial environments.

Desirable

• Experience launching or scaling operations in new markets.

• Understanding of affiliate finance, marketing attribution, and CRM reporting.

• Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CFA) is a plus.

• Experience collaborating with cross-border product and tech teams.
