Are you an enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistant passionate about making a real difference for children who need extra support?

Randstad Education is currently seeking two experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to join a well-established and highly regarded SEN school in St Albans. This long-term role is ideal for dedicated professionals skilled in supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and high-functioning Autism (ASD).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to children with Special Educational Needs (SEN/SEMH)
  • Assist class teachers with lesson planning, resource adaptation, and classroom preparation
  • Support students' physical, social, and emotional well-being while managing challenging behaviours
  • Implement tailored learning schemes to track, record, and report student progress to teachers and parents
  • Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment
Candidate Requirements
  • Experience: Proven track record working with SEN pupils (specifically SEMH and high-functioning ASD)
  • DBS: Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to complete one during compliance)
  • Work Authorisation: Legal right to work in the UK (Sponsorship is not available)
  • References: Ability to provide 2 recent professional references
  • Skills: Strong classroom management, behaviour de-escalation skills, flexibility, and excellent communication
