Location: Pickering / Mississauga, ON (Hybrid)Job Type: 12-Month ContractWork Arrangement: Primarily remote/hybrid; onsite attendance rarely required based on project needsCompensation: $90-$120/hr (INC)Position Overview
Seeking an experienced engineer with expertise in Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Assessments (PSHA) to support nuclear projects and utility stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing PSHA studies, supporting seismic risk evaluations, and providing technical analysis within a regulated nuclear environment.This role is well suited for candidates with strong seismic probabilistic risk assessment experience and familiarity with nuclear industry standards and methodologies.Job Responsibilities
Prepare and review Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Assessments (PSHA)Develop and review PSHA technical reports and supporting documentationInterface directly with utility stakeholders and project teamsPrepare and review engineering analyses and calculations supporting PSHA evaluationsSupport seismic probabilistic risk assessment activities for nuclear applicationsEnsure technical deliverables meet applicable regulatory and quality standards
Required Qualifications
Ontario Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license in good standingCompletion of EPRI Seismic Probabilistic Risk Assessment Training (Training 3002015162)Strong understanding of probabilistic seismic hazard methodologies and seismic risk assessment principlesExperience preparing and/or reviewing technical engineering reports and calculationsAbility to work effectively with utility clients and multidisciplinary engineering teams
Preferred Qualifications
Nuclear industry experienceExperience supporting Canadian nuclear utilities or nuclear refurbishment/new build projectsFamiliarity with applicable nuclear codes, standards, and regulatory requirement
