HGV Class 1 Driver – Manchester

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Manchester. This is an excellent short-term opportunity offering great rates of pay, consistent work, and a professional working environment throughout the busy peak period.

This role would suit candidates with experience as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Rates of Pay:

• £19.00 per hour

Shift Pattern:

• Day and night work available
• 7-day operation

Day-to-Day Duties:

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will work:

• Safely and efficiently operating Category CE vehicles
• Delivering food products to store locations
• Ensuring all loads are safely secured
• Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Reporting any vehicle defects or issues to management
• Completing deliveries in a timely and professional manner
• Communicating effectively with the transport office regarding delays or issues
• Complying with all driving regulations and Working Time Directive requirements
• Completing all required paperwork accurately

Essential Skills:

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

• A valid UK Category CE Driving Licence
• A minimum of two years’ experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver
• A valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no IN10, DR10, or DD10 endorsements)
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• A professional and safety-conscious approach to work

Training:

• Paid site induction
• Full industry-related training
• Ongoing support throughout your assignment
• Experience handling double-decker trailers would be advantageous
• More than two years’ Class 1 driving experience is desirable
