Class 1 Driver

Class 1 Driver – Dayshift – Multi-Drop – Dalkeith / Newtongrange

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Dalkeith / Newtongrange.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Class 1 Driver looking for a consistent dayshift role offering ongoing work and competitive rates of pay.

This position is ideal for applicants looking for a role as an HGV Class 1 Driver, LGV Driver, or Category C+E Driver.

Rates of Pay:

• £16.10 per hour

Shift Pattern:

• Monday to Friday
• Start time: 9:00am

Overtime:

• Overtime paid after 8 hours

Day-to-Day Duties:

As a Class 1 Driver, you will work:

• Completing multi-drop deliveries across Scotland
• Loading and unloading goods where required
• Conducting vehicle checks before and after each shift
• Ensuring deliveries are completed safely and on schedule
• Completing all relevant paperwork and using handheld devices where required
• Complying with all Drivers’ Hours, Tachograph, and Road Traffic Regulations
• Delivering excellent customer service

Essential Skills:

To be successful as a Class 1 Driver, you will need:

• A valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) driving licence
• A valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• Previous Class 1 driving experience
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Reliable, punctual, and safety conscious
• Ability to work independently and manage your own route

Desirable Experience:

• Previous multi-drop driving experience is advantageous but not essential

Training:

• Full paid site induction provided
• Ongoing support throughout your assignment
