Technical Lead

Our client, a leader in the regulated utilities and infrastructure sector, is currently seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer / Technical Lead to join their team on a contract basis. This role, based in Warrington (Birchwood), offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to major infrastructure programmes, providing technical leadership, engineering assurance, and oversight of civil engineering projects within the highly regulated nuclear industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Acting as the Lead Civil Engineer and providing technical leadership to a small engineering team.
• Serving as the Responsible Engineer from the client side, ensuring engineering outputs meet quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Leading civil engineering activities on significant infrastructure projects, including recabling works, new substation installations, and projects associated with the Sellafield programme.
• Reviewing and checking engineering deliverables produced by team members and contractors.
• Providing technical guidance, mentoring, and quality assurance across project activities.

Job Requirements:

• Significant experience within regulated industries such as Nuclear, Rail, Oil & Gas, or Utilities.
• Proven technical leadership experience and confidence in checking and approving the work of others.
• Strong self-management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Chartered Engineer status is considered essential.
• Ability to obtain Security Clearance (SC).

Project & Contract Information:

• Initial 6-month contract with the potential for extension.
• Some travel and site visits required, including project-related visits as needed.
