CNC Machinist

CNC Machinist required in Stroud. Salary: £41,600 basic salary with overtime and salary progression available, Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Contract: Permanent Opportunity.

Pertemps are recruiting for a CNC Machinist to join a rapidly growing precision engineering business based in Stroud. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a well-established company that continues to invest heavily in both its people and its machinery.

Working from a clean, modern and well-organised manufacturing facility, you'll be responsible for operating and setting a variety of machinery, including CNC machines, lathes, milling machines and sliding head machines. This opportunity would suit either an experienced CNC Machinist looking for a long-term career move or a motivated junior engineer with some CNC knowledge who is keen to learn and develop within a supportive environment. Key Duties

• Operating CNC machinery to manufacture precision-engineered components.
  
  
• Setting and operating lathes, milling machines and sliding head machines.
  
  
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  
  
• Producing components to tight tolerances and quality standards.
  
  
• Conducting basic machine checks and ensuring equipment is maintained correctly.
  
  
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment.
  
  
• Working closely with colleagues to achieve production targets.
  
  
• Undertaking training to develop additional skills and responsibilities.
  
  

What We're Looking For

• Previous CNC machining or machine operating experience would be beneficial.
  
  
• Knowledge of CNC machines, lathes, milling machines or sliding head machinery.
  
  
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
  
  
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  
  
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  
  
• Reliable and hardworking approach to work.
  
  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  
  
• Flexibility to support shift work during busy periods.
  
  

Working Hours

• Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:30.
  
  
• Friday: 07:30 - 12:30.
  
  
• 40 hours per week.
  
  
• Overtime available and paid at 1.5x hourly rate.
  
  
• During busy periods, there may be opportunities to work a late shift from 14:00 - 00:00, paid at 1⅓ times the standard hourly rate.
