Randstad Education is currently seeking a passionate Art Teacher to join a vibrant creative arts department at a secondary school in Ipswich. You will join a welcoming department with dedicated studio spaces, joining colleagues who work collaboratively to make visual arts accessible, engaging, and inspiring for every pupil.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver Creative Art Lessons: As a dynamic Art Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging, hands-on visual arts lessons across KS3 and KS4 (GCSE), exploring fine art, drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital media.
Full Curriculum Ownership: Take charge of full class responsibilities, including lesson preparation, practical demonstrations, ongoing assessment, and portfolio moderation.
Foster Studio Confidence: Create an inclusive, supportive studio environment where pupils are encouraged to experiment with diverse techniques, refine their skills, and take artistic risks.
Exhibitions & Displays: Showcase student work through school displays and end-of-year exhibitions to celebrate pupil achievement across the school community.
Maintain High Safety Standards: Ensure printmaking, sculpture, and painting materials are handled safely while maintaining positive, constructive behaviour management.
Candidate Profile
We are searching for an approachable, skilled Art Teacher with strong subject expertise and excellent classroom leadership.
Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS.
Proven track record of working as an Art Teacher within a UK secondary school setting.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire creative confidence in students of all abilities.
Strong classroom and studio management techniques that encourage focus and artistic expression.
Holds an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or a willingness to process one through Randstad).
