Stores / Warehouse Manager

Our client based in the Portsmouth area is looking to recruit an experienced Stores/Warehouse Manager ideally from an engineering backgroundAs an industry leader in their field they are a well-established company with over 90 years’ experience in the engineering fieldThe role will be to ensure the safe and efficient receipt, storage and despatch of warehouse goods. The focus will be stock accuracy and to supervise the picking and kitting warehouse team on a day-to-day basis. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in stores or warehouse management ideally from manufacturing or engineering industries .Role Responsibilities:
Responsible for stores / warehouse operations, ensuring compliance with industry and safety standardsMonitor shipping activities for suppliers and customer fulfilmentsManage the stores team, providing coaching and training to improve performanceCoordinate general logistics including inventory control and order fulfilmentCollaborate with the procurement team to improve processes and improve costsOversee stock levels and ensure accurate records in preparation for stock auditsMonitor key performance indicators to achieve business goals and objectivesLiaise with purchasing and sales department on stock availabilityManage warehouse management systems to maximise efficiencyEnsure adherence to company policies and review processes and systems
