Are you practical, proactive and take pride in solving problems? Do you enjoy a role where no two days are the same? We are looking for a Facilities Officer to join our team and play a key role in maintaining our school environments, ensuring they remain safe, secure and welcoming for students, staff and visitors.
As a Facilities Officer, you'll be at the heart of the operation—supporting the day-to-day management of our buildings and grounds, carrying out repairs, maintenance and site security duties, and helping ensure our facilities are always ready to support learning. You'll work closely with the Facilities Manager while also having the opportunity to use your initiative and develop your skills.
What you'll be doing- Supporting the maintenance, repair and upkeep of our premises and grounds.
- Assisting with the opening, closing and security of school sites.
- Carrying out minor repairs, decorating, porterage, cleaning and waste management tasks.
- Responding promptly to maintenance issues and site call-outs.
- Supporting school events and lettings, with flexibility to work occasional evenings when required.
- Working with contractors and suppliers to maintain high standards across our sites.
- Acting as a First Aider and helping to maintain a safe environment for everyone.
- Enjoys a hands-on role and takes pride in their work
- Can turn their hand to a wide range of maintenance tasks
- Has excellent problem-solving skills and uses initiative
- Is reliable, flexible and willing to support the wider team
- Understands the importance of health and safety compliance
- Builds positive relationships with colleagues, contractors and visitors
- Can maintain professionalism, discretion and confidentiality at all time
