We are recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Required for September 2026
Salary: Grade 7 SCP 18 – SCP 23 (£31,537.00 - £34,470.00) (FTE-AYR) – To be pro rata
Actual Salary: £20,785.52 - £23,131.83 per annum
4 days, 28 hours per week, 39 weeks (TTO + Training Days)
St George’s Catholic Primary School is an outstanding, happy, successful and well-respected primary school which is part of the Emmaus Catholic MAC. The school has an excellent reputation as well as enjoying a strong partnership with the parish community.
The Local Governing Body is seeking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, to work 4 days a week. The post is for PPA cover with planning and delivery of whole class lessons across Key Stage 2. The successful candidate should be passionate about teaching and learning and have high expectations of pupil achievement and well-being as well as having excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum. We are looking for an ambitious candidate to raise the children’s achievements and is willing to become fully involved in the wider life of the school.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering our school vision by supporting the day-to-day Higher Level Teaching Assistant activities. Our teachers and support staff are talented, professional, supportive, caring and ambitious to achieve success.
