Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Engineer for an initial 12-month contract based in Witney. Working within a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance, maintaining meticulous quality standards, and approving essential documentation.
This role is ideal for a confident professional who thrives in an ambiguous, spontaneous environment, possesses a sharp eye for detail, and can work seamlessly both independently and cross-functionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Documentation & Compliance: Manage a high volume of document approvals. Ensure all records strictly adhere to defined procedures and quality standards, ensuring secure and appropriate storage.
- Training & Systems: Maintain and complete your own training records in a timely manner. Support the training of fellow team members on procedures, processes, and systems.
- Quality System Support: Assist with project tasks focused on the development, implementation, and improvement of quality systems to ensure effective, compliant processes that meet business and customer needs.
- Audits & Safety: Support internal and external audits/inspections for your functional area. Take responsibility for your own Health & Safety (and support the wider team), highlighting any opportunities for EHS improvement.
- Business Conduct: Maintain professional communication and interpersonal interactions aligned with the company's corporate Code of Conduct.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: Prior experience within a manufacturing or quality environment is highly beneficial.
- Technical Skills: Proficient with computer systems, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Soft Skills & Adaptability: * Confident communicator able to collaborate across different departments.
- Comfortable working in a fluid, ambiguous environment where priorities can change spontaneously.
- An independent problem-solver who trusts their decision-making but knows exactly when to escalate or ask for help.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
What Success Looks Like in This Role
- Proactive Compliance: Keeping consistently on top of your own training and development.
- KPI Management: Meeting strict time-bound requests within the internal portal to ensure things are reviewed and approved on time.
- Business Impact: Maintaining an efficient workflow of document approvals to directly support overall business output.
