Senior Associate / Partner – Restructuring & Insolvency
 Stoke
Synergy Personnel Services (on behalf of a leading national legal services business)
Salary: To be discussed at application

Synergy Personnel Services is partnering with a highly regarded, fast-growing national legal services provider to appoint a Senior Associate or Partner-level Restructuring & Insolvency Solicitor to join its established team in  Stoke.

This is a senior opportunity for an experienced lawyer to take on a strategic role within a nationally recognised practice, advising a wide range of clients including corporates, lenders, insolvency practitioners, directors, and individuals.

The Opportunity

You will join a respected restructuring and insolvency team advising on both contentious and non-contentious matters across a broad spectrum of financial distress scenarios. The team provides practical, commercial advice on corporate and personal insolvency matters, supporting clients through both restructuring processes and formal insolvency procedures.

The practice acts for a diverse client base including creditors, lenders, officeholders, and businesses, often delivering strategic advice aimed at preserving value or achieving the best possible outcome where insolvency cannot be avoided.

At Partner level, this role offers a genuine platform to influence the direction and growth of the offering locally, supported by a strong national network and client base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading on a wide range of restructuring and insolvency matters, including:
    • Corporate and personal insolvency processes (administrations, liquidations, bankruptcies)
    • Business restructuring and turnaround strategies
    • Acting for insolvency practitioners, creditors, lenders, and directors
    • Contentious insolvency, including asset recovery and fraud-related claims
    • Advising on directors’ duties and potential liabilities
  • Providing strategic, commercially focused advice in high-pressure situations
  • Managing complex and high-value cases from inception through to resolution
  • Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers
  • Driving business development initiatives and strengthening client relationships
  • Contributing to the growth and strategic direction of the team

About You

  • Qualified Solicitor (or equivalent) in England & Wales
  • Significant experience in restructuring and insolvency law
  • Strong technical expertise across both contentious and non-contentious matters
  • Proven ability to handle complex, time-sensitive situations with a commercial mindset
  • For Partner level: demonstrable business development experience and a following or clear growth plan
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and client management skills

Why Apply?

  • Senior leadership opportunity within a growing national practice
  • High-quality, complex work across a diverse client base
  • Opportunity to play a key role in developing the Newcastle offering
  • Strong national platform with an established reputation
  • Collaborative and forward-thinking culture
