A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a vibrant and highly regarded construction consultancy in Bristol. Working with an impressive portfolio of public and private sector clients, you'll be involved in delivering a diverse range of projects across commercial, education, residential, healthcare and retail sectors.
This role offers the chance to work within a collaborative and supportive team, providing expert cost management services from project inception through to completion while developing your professional expertise and client relationships.
The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of projects, providing commercial advice and ensuring effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities will include:
- Preparing cost estimates, budgets and detailed cost plans
- Supporting procurement and tendering processes
- Producing tender and contract documentation
- Undertaking valuations and cost reporting
- Managing variations and change control procedures
- Assisting with contract administration duties
- Preparing and agreeing final accounts
- Liaising with clients, contractors and project stakeholders
- Supporting senior team members on larger and more complex schemes
- Contributing to the delivery of high-quality client service
We're keen to hear from candidates who possess:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Consultancy or client-side Quantity Surveying experience
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, ideally JCT and NEC
- Excellent numerical, analytical and communication skills
- A proactive and client-focused approach
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively within a team
- Progress towards professional chartership (MRICS) would be advantageous
- Experience within the retail sector would be beneficial but is not essential
