About the role
West London – Hybrid work environment
Permanent
£45,000 - £65,000
This growing environmental consultancy specializing in complex, large-scale infrastructure and remediation projects are looking to grow their senior team with the hire of a Senior Remediation engineer.
Their portfolio tackles diverse contaminants, including Asbestos, PFAS, heavy metals, and hydrocarbons. They are a small business who value flexibility, drive, and leadership. They are renowned for incentivizing their team, offering a package that rewards both successful project delivery along with new business development (Commission on newly won work).
They want team members who want to pioneer the future of soil remediation.
They are seeking a versatile Senior Consultant / Remediation Engineer or Manager who thrives as both a "doer" and a manager. You will bridge the gap between technical delivery and commercial management. You will oversee bids, price upcoming works, and manage on-site teams of consultants and subcontractors.
If you are a Senior Contaminated Land Consultant with strong waste experience looking to transition into a hands-on remediation engineering role, they want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Delivery: Manage and deliver complex remediation schemes from inception to validation.
- Commercial Tendering: Review incoming tender information, build accurate costings, and price works.
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a small team of internal environmental consultants.
- Subcontractor Management: Procure, oversee, and coordinate specialized subcontractors on-site.
- Technical Oversight: Apply excavation methodologies and implement diverse remediation techniques.
- Waste Management: Conduct waste soil classification and ensure strict regulatory compliance.
- Business Growth: Identify new opportunities, with financial incentives tied to winning and delivering work.
- Leadership: we are looking for the candidate to have the potential to be able to run this division or be part of the leadership team.
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience handling Asbestos, PFAS, heavy metals, and hydrocarbons. Working on and delivering a wide range of remediation projects.
- Waste & Excavation Knowledge: Deep understanding of waste soil classification and excavation techniques.
- Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated experience reviewing tender documents and pricing remediation works.
- Hybrid Skillset: A proactive "can-do" attitude, comfortable balancing office-based management with site delivery.
- Mobility: Willingness to travel across the Southeast, Cambridgeshire, and occasionally UK-wide for major projects.
